SEADOG COMMERCIAL DIVER TRAINING

 

STEPPING INTO 2017 our complement of trained professionals offers the highest standard of training to be delivered by a South African School

SEADOG aligns all training to South African Department of labour Diving Advisory Board,  and collaborates with the International Diving Schools Association (IDSA), United Kingdom Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and the Australian Diving Accreditation Scheme (ADAS)

 SEADOG complies with South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA). An official body appointed by the ministers of Education and Labour to oversee the development of the National Qualification Framework (NQF) in South Africa.

 SEADOG is active within the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO). A Quality Council established in terms of the Skills Development Act.  Its role is to oversee the design, implementation, assessment and certification of occupational qualifications.

 The South African Department of Labour (DoL)  is part of the International Diving Regulators Forum (IDRF) and therefore the DoL Class II training permit  holds recognition from the International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA)

We are committed to providing quality controlled, progressive education using student centred learning for the development of individuals to ensure they meet training standards and the core competencies through a combination of knowledge, understanding and skills as determined by DOL, IMCA and OGP.

The helmet and band mask course is designed and intended to teach commercial divers, tenders and technicians how to perform routine maintenance, inspection and repair of Kirby Morgan Helmets and Band masks. 

The Course Instructs

-Use of Kirby Morgan Operational Check Lists A2.1 thru A2.6
-Helmet and Band Mask overhaul procedures
-How to properly log maintenance and repairs
-Cleaning and sanitizing
-Face Port Insert inspection and testing
-Monthly helmet inspection procedure
-Daily pre/post dive procedures
-Supervisor pre-dive inspections
-Supervisor in water checks
-EGS interface procedures and configurations
-Calculation of proper supply pressure and volume requirements
-How to teach the KMDSI Helmet/Band Mask Operator/User Course.

REGISTRATION : Commences 08:00 Monday

This Chamber Operators course qualifies the course candidate to operate a chamber under the supervision of a Diving Supervisor.  The course teaches the students the minimum required theory and practical skills in line with internationally accepted standards to allow the qualified candidate to be able to apply his basic knowledge and skills on any chamber. 

ON ARRIVAL

  • 2 x colour ID/Passport photographs

  • 1 x copy of in-date dive medical

CLASS IV SUPERVISOR COURSE SELECTION REQUIREMENTS
All candidates wishing to undertake Class IV Supervisor training, must have attained a Class IV Diver
qualification and have held such registration for a minimum of at least one year.
Candidates must have completed at least 50 dives since qualifying as a Class lV diver.
Candidates must be in possession of a valid topside medical.
The candidate must have attained the age of 21 years.
Candidate must be capable of managing a dive team.

CLASS III SUPERVISOR COURSE SELECTION REQUIREMENTS
All candidates wishing to undertake Class III Supervisor training, must comply with the following
course entry criteria:
Attained the age of 21 yrs.
The candidate must have been registered as a Class III Diver for at least one year.
The candidate must have logged at least 50 dives after registration as a Class III Diver.
Pass a medical examination conducted by a designated medical practitioner. This Certificate must be
obtained before training commences.
Be capable of managing a dive team.

CLASS II TRAINEE AIR DIVING SUPERVISOR SELECTION REQUIREMENTS
All candidates wishing to undertake Class II Supervisor training, must comply with the following
course entry criteria:
Be a minimum of 24 years of age.
The candidate must have been registered as a Class II Diver for at least one year.
the candidate must have spent at least 2 years as an offshore air diver and completed 100 commercial dives.
Be medically fit and in possession of an in-date offshore topside or dive medical.
Be capable of managing a dive team.

Entry requirements - Trainee Air Diving Supervisor : Link Entry requirements for IMCA Trainee Supervisor Course
To qualify as a trainee air diving supervisor, a candidate must meet the following minimum
criteria:
a) Hold an IMCA-recognised surface supplied diving qualification as set out in the IMCA International Code of Practice for Offshore Diving (IMCA D014).  Anyone who has comparable training and experience may be referred to the IMCA Schemes Administrator for a decision by the Assessment Panel.
b) Have demonstrated competence as an offshore air diver in accordance with IMCA C 003 Rev.1 (Competence Assurance and Assessment)  and have completed 100 offshore commercial dives.

c) Have satisfactorily completed an IMCA-approved Trainee Air Diving Supervisor training course. Candidates are not eligible to attend such courses until they have complied with criteria a and b above.
d) C-DOC strongly recommend you hold an IMCA DMT certification.
