How the Programme Works
Step 1: Complete Online Theory
Refresh your emergency medical response knowledge through the online theory component before attending practical refresher assessment.
This ensures learners are prepared for updated casualty management procedures, emergency response protocols, and refresher assessment requirements.

Step 2: Attend Practical Skills Training and Assessment
On-site practical refresher training is conducted at The Academy of Diving and Offshore Medicine in Saldanha Bay, South Africa.
This stage focuses on hands-on refresher training and assessment in offshore and diving medical emergency scenarios.
Entry Requirements
To qualify for the 5-day onsite skills training and assessment, the following is required:
- Copy of ID/passport
- Electronic colour passport photograph
- Copy of diving qualification (DOL, ADAS, HSE dive permit)
- Copy of current IMCA DMT certificate
- Completed enrolment form
This is a refresher programme for individuals who already hold a current or previous IMCA Approved Diver Medic Technician certificate.
It is not an entry-level medical or diving course. Participants should already be qualified divers or diving personnel requiring DMT refresher training.

Duration: 1 week / 5 days practical refresher training
