Step 2: Portfolio of Evidence (POE) & Workplace Competencies

Candidates are required to complete a Portfolio of Evidence (POE) and required workplace competencies during their supervisory development period.

  • Complete required practical panel hours and supervisory competencies in the workplace
  • Complete and sign off the POE for theory and practical requirements
  • Obtain workplace supervisor sign-off before final assessment

Step 3: Final Skills Assessment & Evaluation

Final skills assessment and supervisory evaluation are conducted at an approved training centre.

Entry Requirements

Prerequisites for Registration as Learner Air Dive Supervisor – Class IV

  • Course enrolment form
  • Copy of ID / Passport
  • Copy of Diver Card
  • Colour passport photograph
  • Letter of Recommendation from current DoEL Supervisor
  • Copy of current DoEL dive supervisor permit
  • Copy of current in-date DoEL dive permit
  • Current CV

Department of Employment & Labour (DoEL) Minimum Requirements – Class IV

  • Minimum age: 21
  • Minimum dives: 100 logged commercial dives
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year after completion of Class IV diver qualification
  • Portfolio of Evidence: Including required panel hours and competencies
  • In-date Diver or Topside Medical
  • In-date Supervisor First Aid and O2 Certification
  • Chamber Operator Certificate
  • Online theory modules completed before onsite assessment

All requirements are in accordance with the Department of Employment & Labour Supervisor Application Checklist.

Onsite Assessment & Final Evaluation

Final practical assessment dates are arranged directly with the chosen training centre after completion of theory and POE requirements.

Important Conditions:
Online theory must be completed before onsite supervisory assessment.
Portfolio of Evidence requirements must be completed before final evaluation.
Assessment bookings are subject to availability and confirmed scheduling.

Certification and Outcome

On successful completion, candidates are prepared to progress as Learner Air Dive Supervisors – Class IV in accordance with Department of Employment & Labour requirements.

To qualify, candidates must:
