Important – This is a Top-Up Programme:
This course is designed for divers who have already completed a Class III Inshore commercial diving certification or hold an equivalent qualification from an accredited training institution.
You cannot begin your commercial diving career at this level. New entrants must start with Class IV and progress through the commercial diving certification pathway.
Divers with recognised prior training and a valid Class III Inshore certification may be assessed to determine eligibility for direct entry into this advanced programme.

How the Programme Works
Step 1: Complete Theory Online
The theory component is completed online independently prior to any practical training.
This includes modules on:
- Advanced diving theory
- Air chamber operations
- Surface decompression diving, SurD02
- Wet bell operations
- Advanced offshore diving procedures
Step 2: Attend Practical Training
The practical component is conducted on-site at The Academy of Diving and Offshore Medicine or another approved training facility and must be booked and paid for separately.
This phase focuses on:
- Advanced surface-supplied diving equipment and systems
- Offshore diving procedures
- Air chamber operations
- Surface decompression procedures
- Wet bell operations
- Underwater tool handling and communications
- Complex diving operations under supervision
On-Site Practical Training Dates
Practical duration: Please confirm with the Academy when booking on-site practical dates.
Important Conditions:
You can provisionally book practical training in advance.
Online theory needs to be completed before attending on-site practical training.
