Air Diving Equipment Technician

This course is designed for individuals seeking to work as Air Diving Equipment Technicians in the commercial diving industry. It focuses on the essential technical knowledge and practical skills needed to maintain, operate, and troubleshoot diving equipment and systems used in offshore and inshore operations. The curriculum combines comprehensive theory modules with intensive hands-on training to prepare candidates for real-world diving support environments.

Course Admission

To qualify for the 2 week on-site practical training and assessment, the following is required:

• Copy ID

• Electronic colour ID photograph

• CV and certification of candidate (pre-approval for course is essential)

  • Certificate can be of a trade/engineering qualification or advanced academic qualification relating to engineering

• Enrolment form

Course Structure

• Theory Component: Completed online independently prior to attending the practical training.
• Practical Training: Skills training and assessment, at The Academy of Diving and Offshore Medicine or another approved training centre. Participants will take part in focused, hands-on sessions covering:

• • Inspection, maintenance, and repair of diving equipment

  • Set-up and operation of dive systems

  • Fault-finding and troubleshooting procedures

  • Safety checks and compliance with industry standards
