Important – This is a Top-Up Programme:
This course is designed for divers who have already completed up to a Class III Inshore commercial diving certification or hold an equivalent qualification from an accredited training institution.

You cannot begin your commercial diving career at this level. New entrants must start at Class IV and progress through the certification pathway.

Divers with recognised prior training and a valid Class III Inshore certification may be assessed to determine eligibility for direct entry into this advanced programme.

This certification represents one of the highest levels of commercial diving expertise offered by The Academy of Diving and Offshore Medicine and is an IMCA-approved surface supplied diving qualification.The Top-Up Class II Commercial Diver programme is designed for divers progressing from Class III Inshore certification to advanced offshore diving operations.

Course Admission

  3. Copy of Dive Qualification: DoEL Class III Inshore dive permit (or equivalent ADAS / HSE)

How the Programme Works

Step 1: Complete Theory Online

The theory component is completed online independently prior to practical training.
Topics include advanced diving theory, air chamber operations, surface decompression diving (SurD02), and wet bell operations.

Step 2: Attend Practical Training

Practical training is delivered at The Academy of Diving and Offshore Medicine or another approved training facility.
This phase emphasises advanced SSDE use, underwater tool handling, communication, offshore procedures, and complex diving operations under supervision.

Practical training fees are invoiced separately by The Academy of Diving for EFT / SWIFT payment.

The prerequisite online theory is to be completed prior to practical onsite training.
Even if a practical intake is fully booked, you can still start your theory training online NOW to prepare for practical training in the 2027 calendar year.
