The Trainee Air Diving Supervisor (TADS) programme is designed according to and accredited by the International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) to equip experienced divers with the skills and knowledge necessary to supervise complex underwater operations. This overview outlines the guidelines and curriculum for the TADS course, which is a crucial step towards becoming a fully qualified Air Diving Supervisor.

Course Admission

To qualify for the IMCA TADS course, the following is required for preapproval:

  • Copy ID/Passport
  • Electronic colour passport photograph
  • Copy of Dive Qualification (DOL, ADAS, HSE dive permit)
  • Copy of current IMCA DMT certificate (if you have one)
  • TADS Application form (Enrolment form)
  • TADS Verification guidance
  • POE of 100 Offshore Dives
  • TADS C003 for Air divers (D05)

To enrol in the TADS course, candidates must:

  • Hold an IMCA-recognised surface-supplied diving qualification as outlined in IMCA D 013.
  • Have demonstrated competence as an offshore air diver with a minimum of 100 logged commercial offshore dives as required by IMCA.
  • pre-approval for course is essential

Upon completing the course, students receive a completion certificate for Trainee Air Diving Supervisor.
