Trainee Air Diving Supervisor (TADS)

The Trainee Air Diving Supervisor (TADS) programme is designed according to and accredited by the International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) to equip experienced divers with the skills and knowledge necessary to supervise complex underwater operations. This overview outlines the guidelines and curriculum for the TADS course, which is a crucial step towards becoming a fully qualified Air Diving Supervisor.
Course Admission
To enrol in the TADS course, candidates must:

Hold an IMCA-recognised surface-supplied diving qualification as outlined in IMCA D 013.

Have demonstrated competence as an offshore air diver with a minimum of 100 logged commercial offshore dives.
Assessment and Certification
Upon completing the course, students receive a completion certificate for Trainee Air Diving Supervisor.
To become a fully qualified Air Diving Supervisor, candidates must:

Accumulate at least 200 panel hours offshore on a minimum of 100 surface dives over 60 days as a Trainee Air Diving Supervisor.

Demonstrate competence as an offshore air diver and complete 200 offshore commercial air dives.

Pass the IMCA Air Diving Supervisor examination within three years of completing the course
Course Structure
- Theory Component: Completed online independently prior to attending the practical training.
- Practical Training: Skills training and assessment, at The Academy of Diving and Offshore Medicine or another approved training centre.
